The business’s name “ Babon!se Nana ” is a cheeky statement that any proud parents makes about their child’s fashion sense. We don’t just design and manufacture clothes for the sake of clothing children – we make a statement with the originality of pattern designs; suitable fabric used and artwork.
We ask ourselves – why our clothes as South Africans don’t represent who we are? In an effort to answer this question – the ‘Babon!se Nana’ baby clothing range has artwork that embraces South African vernacular languages. This is a first for South Africa, as there are only baby clothes written in English, with a limited number in Afrikaans. The only baby items written in African languages are personalised baby items and they only cater for baby names. We love to dress beautiful babies in beautiful clothes that instill pride. Every baby should show off their fashion sense !
The babywear is made from 100% soft cotton fabric with special attention to making seams gentle for baby’s skin. The clothing range is for children from 0 to 2 years old. The leggings have a soft rib waistband to prevent any elastic cutting into baby’s tummy. The baby grows and onesies have front or envelope neck openings which make for easy dressing.
We design, manufacture and sell babywear made in South Africa. Our focus is on quality and artwork that embrace our ethnicity as South Africans. Our long-term plan is to design our own fabric and produce clothes that are made with South African fabric.
